Typhoon Yagi, the most powerful storm to impact Vietnam in the last three decades, has caused widespread devastation across northern Vietnam.
As of now, there have been 329 reported fatalities and missing persons due to Typhoon Yagi, as well as related landslides and floods. The majority of these casualties occurred in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai, where 124 people lost their lives, and 26 individuals remain missing. Notably, many of these losses resulted from a fatal flash flood that swept through part of a village, claiming the lives of 81 residents.
In response to this tragedy, Mekong Investment Holdings JSC. has acted swiftly by donating 200 million VND to provide urgent support for those affected by the disaster. This contribution extends beyond its material value; it also reflects sentiments of solidarity with those impacted by natural calamities.
Furthermore, both individuals and organizations, both within Vietnam and abroad, have generously donated over 1.09 trillion VND (equivalent to 44.4 million USD) to the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) to aid those affected by Typhoon Yagi.
